New Toyota Auris Quotes

Performance

Compared to its previous version, the Auris is lighter, there are adjustments to the steering and the drive is so comfortable that driving the car is an absolute pleasure. The car is an excellent refined experience too, being quiet and efficient across the range of four engines – one diesel, two petrols and a hybrid. The petrol options offers a 1.33-litre 98bhp or a 1.6-litre 130bhp. The diesel available is a 1.4-litre 89bhp. The hybrid is the most interesting however - a 1.8-litre petrol engine with an electric drive system. Its CO2 emissions are an environment-friendly 87g/km and it’s claimed to average an impressive 74.3mpg.

Running Costs

The Auris is one of the most economical cars of its class, thanks largely to its lightweight, aerodynamic design and the added bonus of fuel saving technology. The best mpg comes from the hybrid, with claimed figures of 72.4mpg and 91g/km of CO2 emissions, but this comes at the cost of the increased power the petrol option provides. The Auris 1.4-litre diesel matches the Hybrid’s 72.4mpg, but with 103g/km emissions, while the petrol engines see a best of 52.3mpg and 125g/km emissions for the 1.33-litre. Ultimately it is down to the driver’s choice; however the hybrid is marginally more economically friendly than its diesel counterpart.

Equipment

Move up to the Icon grade, feature alloy wheels, a DAB radio, Toyota’s multimedia control system, Bluetooth connectivity, a rear-view camera, a leather steering wheel and gear knob, front fog lamps and electric one-touch front and rear windows.
