Performance

There are a wide range of engines to choose from with different capabilities, the best of the petrol offerings is the 1.6L THP turbo and the HDI diesel models deliver excellent performance and economy. The HYbrid4 model is powered by a combination of a 163bhp 2.0L diesel engine and a 37bhp electric motor and is impressive, running a 0-62mph sprint in 8.5 seconds.Comparatively the VW Tiguan 2.0L TDI Bluemotion Tech SE only runs 0-60mph in 11.1 seconds and has a top speedof 115mph compared to the HYbrid’s 118mph.

Running costs

The HYbrid is arguably the most efficient diesel/electric crossover in the UK, it will return 80.7mpg and has Co2 emissions 91g/km keeping it road tax free and it is reasonably start priced at £25,195. Although the Tiguan’s start price of £25,670 is only marginally more than the HYbrid its running costs are significantly higher with 150g/km of Co2 emissions and only 40.9mpg.The whole 3008 range remains efficient with as even the e-HDi models have stop-start technology when coasting at low speeds and the 1.6L eHDi returns an average of 62.8mpg and has low Co2 emissions of 117g/km.

The 3008 comes with 3 trim options, the entry level Access cars come with electric front windows and air-con but Active trim comes with the added extra of alloys, automatic lights and wipers, parking sensors, cruise control and bluetooth.
