New Mazda MX-5 Quotes

Performance

Not only is the Mazda MX-5 the biggest selling sports car in the world but there's no denying it is a hugely enjoyable and rewarding drive. The MX-5 offers two engines, a 1.8-litre with 126bhp and a 2.0-litre unit with 160bhp, offering a fairly quick, nippy and powerful sports experience. The 2.0-litre shoots from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds compared to 9.4 seconds for the 1.8-litre engine.

Running Costs

Considering the ‘sports car’ nature of the Mazda MX-5, the car is surprisingly affordable, with running costs kept to a minimum. The average fuel consumption is 50mpg and 37mpg for the 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre engines respectively, which is extremely impressive. The 2.0 litre also boasts a lot emission figure of 181g/km of C02, making the MX-5 not only cost effective but fairly economically friendly.

Equipment

The Mazda MX-5 has various levels of trims available, all featuring a very impressive list of features. The entry-level 1.8-litre model comes with electric windows and a four speaker CD player while the 2.0-litre Sport model offers a six-speed gearbox, leather seats, 17-inch alloy wheels and sports suspension. Optional packs are available on both models and include extras such as a cloth rather than vinyl roof, 16-inch alloy wheels, leather steering wheel and a six CD changer. The top of the range Roadster Coupe models boast an additional automated folding roof and an enhanced specification that includes climate control and iPod compatibility.
