The new upcoming Volkswagen Up! qualifies for the lowest insurance group, according to the car maker.

The Up! is set to be released in the UK in March 2012 and is one of the most exciting new car launches in 2012 thanks to its five-star Euro NCAP crash test safety rating, frugal engine and practicality.

The low-cost insurance group, 1E, is available for the entry-level Take Up! (£7,995), Move Up! (£8,970) and the Move Up! with BlueMotion technology.

The highest specification model, the High Up! (£11,180) in both the White and Black, is also available in the low 2E insurance group. This means the High Up! is three groups below the average for its class. These lower insurance groups mean customers will save money.

Savings for Volkswagen customers continues with a three-year/60,000-mile fixed price servicing plan, which is available for just £299.

These savings on the Up! will make it even more affordable and along with its already low price and high standard quality, will be a popular choice with new and younger drivers.

This is also thanks to its five-star safety rating because of its extensive safety equipment, including front passenger airbags, and high strength steel being used in its production. Other safety features include a ABS with hydraulic brake assist, side and head airbags for front seat occupants and ESP ((Electronic Stabilisation Programme).

The new Volkswagen Up! is available to order now. The first UK deliveries are due in March 2012.
