The Volkswagen Golf has added to its list of awards after being named ACFO's Green Vehicle of the Year.
This award adds to the already claimed Gold Winner for Larger Family Cars and Green Champion title at the Green Apple Environment Awards, amongst others.
The Volkswagen Golf BlueMotion achieved this with its economical 1.6-litre diesel engine, which is a popular choice in its BlueMotion range.
The 1.6-litre BlueMotion engine offers fuel economy of 74.3mpg and CO2 emissions of just 99g/km.
This sub 100g/km means that it is exempt from the London congestion charge road tax. As well as it being an economic engine it also delivers a generous 104hp of power.
A judge at the Green Vehicle awards said:"It really does work. Out of all the cars here, the Golf BlueMotion is the most impressive all-rounder and returns amazing economy figures in practice - while also remaining exceedingly practical and good to drive."
