The new Volkswagen Beetle is now available to order ahead of its spring 2012 release in the UK.

The new Beetle has adapted a new design which looks a little sportier and more streamlined than the previous version, made notorious by the 'cute' design and flower situated in the dashboard.

The new model is much more in line with the original Beetle from 73 years ago with less emphasis on the 'bubble' design of the previous generation.

Alongside its new design the Beetle will be available in three specifications and with two new engines. These different versions of the Beetle will vary in price from £16,490 to £19,470.

The Beetle's C02 emissions are improved to with its 47.9 miles per gallon and its reasonable 137 grams per kilometre of emissions for the best-performing diesel engine.

All of the new Beetle models come with standard features such as air conditioning, remote central locking and a good quality sound system including a digital radio.

If you choose a more expensive model of the Beetle, the second one, you can have features like Bluetooth telephone preparation, iPod connectivity, front fog lights and a multifunction leather steering wheel.

The top level Beetle model includes fancy things like tinted glass, cruise control, sports seats, parking sensors and electronic climate control.

An optional extra for the Beetle, that is expected to be a head turner, is its Fender sound pack. This sound pack delivers great sound quality and style with its clear sound and three-colour illuminations surrounding its speakers. This optional extra cost £495.

The new Volkswagen Beetle will arrive in the UK in Spring 2012.
