The Nissan Qashqai has been voted Used Car of the Year 2012 after winning the same award last year.
The five-seat SUV crossover was named as the best used car by used car pricing experts at CAP and means it retains the title it first won in 2011.
The crossover, which is built in the UK and was somewhat of a breakthrough car for Nissan because of its unique design and instant success, beat five models to take the prestigious award.
Based on a typical hatchback, the Nissan Qashqai features a raised ride height in the style of an SUV but a rear end more akin to a hatchback.
The result is a unique car whose values have stayed strong over the past two years. Judges also pointed to the car's affordability, popularity and the trusted reputation of the manufacturer as reasons for its victory.
Judging panel chairman Mark Bulmer, Editor of CAP Black Book, said: "It is a great all-rounder that is perfect for its purpose, delivering on style as well as practicality for the motorist and providing a great retail proposition for used car dealers."
The Qashqai finished ahead of the Citroën DS3, Vauxhall Zafira, Fiat 500, Ford Fiesta and Renault Clio, largely because its value did not fall as much as many other cars in the market.
The Nissan Qashqai family car is also available in larger, seven-seat variation in the shape of the Nissan Qashqai+2.
However, standard five-seat versions start from around £14,000 in the UK, rising to over £20,000 for range-topping models.
