The award-winning Nissan Qashqai range has expanded, with the Japanese carmaker introducing a new DIG-T 161bhp petrol engine, fully-compliant with strict Euro6 emissions regulations.
Nissan’s new 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged unit offers a great blend of strong performance and efficiency.
The powerplant features advanced turbocharging technology and develops 161bhp and 240Nm of torque. This power will push the crossover to a 0-62mph time of 9.1 seconds, making it the fastest Qashqai in the line-up, while top speed clocks in at 124mph.
As with all engines in the Qashqai range, the new DIG-T unit is equipped with a Start/Stop ignition system. Models fitted with the new petrol engine will return average fuel economy of up to 48.7mpg, while emitting as low as 134g/km of CO2.
The new DIG-T engine is available in front-wheel-drive and comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Available to order now, first deliveries of the Nissan Qashqai DIG-T 161bhp models will take place from January 2015.
When the new engine arrives, it will sit above the Qashqai’s existing 1.2 DIG-T unit in the range, which comes with Start/Stop as standard and develops 112bhp.
For customers who prefer an automatic ‘box, the existing 1.2 DIG-T engine is now available with Nissan’s Xtronic automatic transmission.
Prices for the award-winning Nissan Qashqai range from £18,265 to £28,900. Contact AskaPrice today for a quote, brochure or test drive.
