Nissan has a new Juke Nismo concept car that is said to be an idea of how a premium sports version of the compact Juke crossover could look.

Compared to the original Nissan Juke the Nismo is lower and wider, which adds to its sporty appeal. Its body kit includes revised front and rear bumpers, fenders and side skirts. New 19" alloy wheels are also included.

The Nismo's front grille pattern has also been changed and so has its tailgate spoiler, which has been changed to better control airflow. The door mirrors have also been altered to enhance aerodynamic shape. The Nismo also offers a 1.6-litre engine that has been added to give extra power.

The Nismo's paint job finishes off the sporty performance look in a pearl white paint job with red highlights.

Inside the Nismo a complete redesign has took place which means the likes of the steering wheel, pedals, gauges, shifter knob and door trims have all been tweaked. Leather-trimmed bucket seats have also been added to enhance the performance feel of the Nismo.

The Nismo's centre console incorporates a 'motorcycle fuel tank' shape that has been given a metallic coating.

Andy Palmer, executive vice president, Nissan Motor Co said: "The global sales success of Nissan Juke has proved beyond doubt that customers are looking for something different. The Juke Nismo Concept takes that idea to the next level. It's energetic, distinctive and highly desirable."
