The new Mercedes C-Class Estate is available with five engine options and three trim levels, with the German carmaker stating that it “sets new class benchmarks in refinement, economy and standard equipment".

Starting the range is the C 200 petrol engine, which produces 180bhp and emits 128g/km of CO2. The entry-level C-Class Estate is priced at £28,055, carrying a £1,200 premium over the Saloon, and is available with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission.

Two diesel engines, the 220 BlueTEC and the 250 BlueTEC, produce 168bhp and 201bhp and emit 108g/km and 117g/km of CO2, respectively. Prices for the 220 BlueTEC start from £30,565, while the 250 BlueTEC costs from £33,220.

Joining the new C-Class Estate range later in the year will be two further engines: a C 200 BlueTEC diesel and the C 300 BlueTEC HYBRID.

Customers will be able to choose from three trim levels: SE, Sport and AMG Line, while four option packages are also available. The packages available are the ‘Executive Package’, ‘Premium Package’, ‘Driving Assistance Package’ and ‘AirMATIC Agility Package’.
