The Hyundai i30, which starts from £14,495 has only been out since March, but it's already done enough to rack up a slew of awards. It’s most recent? Practical Caravan, The Camping & Caravanning Club & What Car? Towcar Awards 2012 has named the i30 as the UK's ‘Best Value Hatchback’.

Quite a mouthful, and almost futile to make an acronym of, but we’ll give it a go. The PCTC&CC&WCTA (phew...) judged the i30 and a number of other models on a series of tough practical tasks. Their goal: to find Britain’s best towcar – the Hyundai can pull 1,500kg, and can hill-start like a monster, which helped it take the crown.

Covered in Glory

Though the above award is a great achievement for the i30, it’s not its most impressive. That accolade goes to the ribbon on its dashboard from specialist website CarBuyer, which has classed the i30 as ‘Best Family Car’ and ‘Car of the Year 2012’.

President & CEO of Hyundai Motor UK Ltd, Tony Whitehorn, is delighted with the latest addition to the i30’s mantelpiece. “It is fantastic that the New Generation i30 has been recognised by the Towcar judges. It is a true testament to the style, refinement, efficiency and all-round practicality of our new family hatchback."

It’s little wonder the new i30 has been praised for its value. Hyundai i30 prices start from £14,495, has one of the most impressive cabins of any hatchback currently on the market, is affordable to run and has an efficient diesel engine.

The i30 is an incredibly smooth ride and handles brilliantly. It’s damped well so can handle rough terrain with little problem, and is a wonderfully refined vehicle. Its boot is spacious too, with a number of trims to choose from – it’s the perfect car for smaller families or adults that want value complemented with safety, great technology and buckets of style.
