Ford says its new Ranger pick-up has added style and appeal, with a design inspired by Ford's global expertise.
This new pickup truck is available with three engines, the most powerful being a 3.2-litre diesel, making for fuel consumption of around 28 miles per gallon. All versions of the Ranger model are available with four-wheel-drive.
With regards to towing capabilities, the Ranger can tow a maximum of 3,350kg. It also has the ability to drive in water up to 800mm. The Rangers interior compliments practicalities with its double cab offering 23 storage spaces in the cabin. There is also 8.5 litres of space in the centre console between the two front seats, which is the biggest in its class and can fit six beverages.
The new stylish approach by Ford shows with the Ranger's taut lines and range of body styles. There are three body styles all together: Regular, Super and Double, each style adding different look to the model. For example the Double style is a lot chunkier than the others.
A selection of equipment will also be available with the Ranger. With four different levels of equipment: Ranger XL, Ranger XLT, Ranger Thunder and Ranger Wildtrak, Wildtrak being the top of the range level of equipment.
For example the Ranger Wildtrak equipment includes features like Bluetooth, USB and iPod connectivity, voice control over the radio, air-conditioning, climate control and cruise control. There is also a choice of a five-inch colour screen with satellite navigation.
Stephen Odell, Ford of Europe chairman and CEO commented on Ford's new approach with the Ranger, he said:
"Far from producing a vehicle that is compromised by the need to serve different market requirements, it was developed by drawing on resources, facilities and expertise from Ford locations around the world to deliver an excellent product that will satisfy customers everywhere".
Safety features of the Ranger include electronic stability and an emergency brake assist. These features can prove very useful in an off roader for situations when you may roll out of control or need extra traction control. Its safety features scored a five star EuroNCAP rating and was said to keep all body regions well protected.
The new Ford Ranger goes on sale next month priced from £15,515 (on-the-road excluding VAT).
