Following the success of the original i40 saloon model, Hyundai has released an all new version of the car.

With this new entry to the Hyundai i40 range a new approach will be noticeable with Hyundai saying that it will be more 'stylish' than before. This means sleek lines down the flanks and a highly stylised bonnet to complement the low, almost coupe-like roofline.

The i40 also improves over the previous generation when it comes to engine efficiency with a mile per gallon figure from 65.7mpg and CO2 emissions of just 113g/km.

Tony Whitehorn, managing director, Hyundai Motor UK says: "The i40 Saloon represents the next-step in the launch of the i40 range to the UK market. It is a vehicle that has been designed and engineered specifically for Europe, ensuring its relevance in the market place."

The new i40 will have a choice of two engines and three available levels of equipment which range in price: Active, Style and Premium. Some available features that will be available on the 'Style' level of equipment are 16-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth, leather steering wheel with mounted controls, cruise control and touch screen sat nav.

If you want to go fancier then the 'Premium' level of equipment offers things like a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery and the option of driver assist functions like parking assist.

The i40 will be fitted with plenty of airbags, seven to be exact, that will ensure a safe ride. This has been proven in the cars crash test (Euro NCAP), where it achieved a five star rating.

Whitehorn added "The stylish saloon version shares the same qualities found in the i40 Tourer - offering outstanding levels of fuel-efficiency, comfort, quality, and a high level of standard equipment all at an accessible price."

The all-new Hyundai i40 saloon goes sale from 5 January 2012 and prices will start from £17,395 on the road.
