Data from Askaprice.com has shown that British-built cars have performed strongly throughout the year.On average, 20.6 per cent of all monthly enquiries into the car-buying website have been for models built in the UK.The Vauxhall Astra is the most popular British-built car at Askaprice.com, accounting for 24 per cent of enquiries for British-made models. The Astra hatchback finished some 13.8 per cent ahead of the Nissan Qashqai crossover that came second recording just 10.2 per cent of British-built enquiries. However Nissan can take some solace from being the most popular manufacturer of UK produced models. As well as a podium finish for the Qashqai, the Qashqai+2 and Juke also featured in the top ten coming in at eighth and ninth position respectively. The result of the Juke is perhaps the most surprising with the quirky crossover managing to force its way into the top ten despite having been on sale for just six months. For the year-to-date British built models have accounted for 17.5 per cent of all lead enquiries into Askaprice.com with September being the most popular month for UK-produced cars at 23.1 per cent of overall enquiries.Top ten British-built models by sales enquiry1.
