The all-new Mazda2 is set for its European launch, with the model offering generous equipment and a stylish appearance.
Mazda’s next generation supermini will make its European press debut at a driving event in Barcelona, Spain on November 3rd 2014. In addition, the five-door hatchback will also be the highlight of numerous national motor shows and other events throughout autumn and winter.
The new Mazda2 will offer numerous SKYACTIV engines, while its design is based on the Mazda Hazumi concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March.
Customers will be able to choose from one of four engines: SKYACTIV-G 1.5 74bhp, SKYACTIV-G 1.5 89bhp, SKYACTIV-G 1.5 113bhp, and SKYACTIV-D 1.5 104bhp.
Engines will be mated to either a five-speed manual, six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission and crank out between 135Nm and 220Nm of torque.
Depending on the version chosen, the next generation Mazda2 hatchback will return average fuel economy of between 57.6mpg and 83.1mpg, while emitting between 89g/km and 115g/km of CO2.
Technology will be in abundance, with models set to receive a set of i-ACTIVSENSE active safety systems, including Blind Spot Monitoring, and Active Driving Display – the first head-up display in the B-segment.
After featuring at numerous upcoming motor shows including Zurich (November 5th-9th), Vienna (January 14th-18th) and Brussels (January 15th-25th), the all-new Mazda2 will go on sale early next year.
