Skoda has announced a special edition Fabia vRS to commemorate its success in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC).

Skoda has announced a special edition Fabia vRS to commemorate its success in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC).

Out of 12 IRC events Skoda won seven whilst its crews achieved 17 podium finishes and to celebrate its performance the Czech manufacturer is releasing a special edition Fabia vRS S2000.

The commemorative vRS is fitted with a 1.4-litre TSI 180bhp, turbocharged and supercharged engine, capable of clearing 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 139mph.

The powerful engine will be coupled with a seven-speed DSG twin-clutch transmission with either an automatic or manual Tiptronic variant.

Only 200 vehicles will be produced worldwide with just 20 allocated to the UK.

The vRS S2000 is finished in Rallye Green but contrasted with a white bonnet and white 17-inch “Gigaro" alloy wheels.

As well as this green and white design the special edition vRS hatchback will also be adorned in similar racing logos and “livery" as the IRC Fabia S2000.

Prices for the special edition Fabia vRS S2000 are yet to be finalised however a release date has been confirmed for January 2011 in the UK.
