Skoda has experienced its best ever year-to-date with record global sales of 568,990 in the first nine months of 2010.
On the back of these increased sales the Czech manufacturer’s operating profit and turnover has similarly improved on the same period last year.
Winifred Vahland, Chairman of the Board of Skoda Auto said, “We have never sold more cars in the first nine months of a year than we have done in 2010.
“We will continue on this path and, in doing so, we want to expand considerably in global growth markets such as Russia, India, and China, while at the same time strengthening our position in Europe."
Skoda also expects this improvement to continue for the remainder of the year on the back of the success of models like the Yeti crossover, the Superb hatchback and Superb estate.
As well as Skoda scooping the overall best car manufacturer award from Which?, the Yeti was the recipient of the Auto Express award for the best car of year in August and the Superb estate named as Top Gear’s Best Luxury Car in 2009.
In the UK Skoda is predicting a record year with sales already up by 23 per cent while in the other major markets of China, India, Russia and Europe, the manufacturer also reported improvements.
