BMW has been awarded key supplier status by the UK’s 52 police forces.

BMW has been awarded key supplier status by the UK’s 52 police forces.

The contract means a range of BMW vehicles will be given varying roles in the day-to-day working of the police force.

Models include 330d saloon and touring models, 530d saloon and touring, all variants of the X1 and the X3 xDrive 20d compact SUV.

Askaprice currently has a series of hot deals on the 3 series saloon and the X3, both of which are available on business leasing.

Similarly used BMW X1 models are available on outright purchase.

While the 5 Series is a new addition to the fleet, the 3 Series saloon will be used as a new pursuit vehicle according to the contract. As such the saloon has been modified to meet the needs of a rapid response vehicle.

BMW says that as well as fulfilling high speed requirements, the environmental and running costs of the vehicle were also being taken into account.

The German marque is a popular choice of vehicle across all 52 police forces and the manufacturer insists it is unique in offering vehicles that are already equipped with the appropriate emergency facilities as opposed to offering retrospective installation.

BMW similarly runs a Special Sales Competence Centre that is responsible for all vehicles sold to the emergency services. Mitsubishi has also recently been awarded a ‘blue light’ contract as well as BMW and a number of different manufacturers.

Askaprice.com currently has Mitsubishi Shogun leasing deals available – the Shogun is one of the vehicles used by the police force.
