Land Rover confirms Range Rover Evoque pricing

Land Rover has revealed the pricing for the new Range Rover Evoque, set for release in September.

For the first time ever a Range Rover model will fall below the £30,000 barrier and open up the Range Rover line to a new target audience.

The Evoque will be available in both five and three door coupe variants with prices starting at £27,955 for the larger model and at £28,950 for the coupe respectively.

The Range Rover Evoque was for a long time the worst kept secret in the motor industry and as such anticipation and attention has been surrounding the model since it was first announced.

It made its debut at the Paris Motor Show in 2010 where it was lauded for its typical Range Rover attributes as well as a new sleek, coupe design hinting at a reduced price for the model.

That new, lower price was revealed yesterday where the Warwickshire-based manufacturer also confirmed a two wheel drive option to make the model appeal more to city buyers than the traditional 4x4 models in the Land Rover range.

Three engines will be available with the Evoque with a 2.0-litre Si4 240PS petrol unit sitting at the top as the most powerful option. The petrol engine uses direct fuel injection, turbocharging and twin variable valve timing, resulting in a 0-62mph sprint time of 7.1 seconds.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, the 150PS 2.2-litre turbodiesel is the model’s most efficient drivetrain with CO2 emissions of 130g/km. The engine range is completed by a more powerful, 190PS 2.2-litre diesel.
