The full range of Kia’s new crossover, the Sportage, is now on sale across the UK.

The full range of Kia’s new crossover, the Sportage, is now on sale across the UK.

Its complete line-up consists of 16 models, four engines and a range of specification and trim derivatives that follows the release of the First Edition version that went on sale in August.

Kia is competing against the likes of the Nissan Qashqai, Peugeot 3008 and the Ford Kuga and is aimed at young families as a result of its five-door and five-seat design.

According to the Korean manufacturer, the Sportage has a more muscular stance than its predecessor courtesy of a new nose grille, high shoulders and ribbed roof.

The new Sportage is longer, lower and wider than the previous Kia SUV and a lighter, more aerodynamic design intended to reduce drag and environmental impact.

The smallest engine in the Sportage line is a 1.6-litre direct-injection petrol engine, followed by the more economical 1.7-litre turbodiesel- the most economical in the range with CO₂ emissions of 135g/km and an average fuel economy of 54.3mpg.

The larger engines for the model come in the form of a 2.0-litre CRDi and a 2.0-litre petrol engine that is the most powerful in the range. It develops 161bhp and is combined with Kia’s Dymax all-wheel drive system that continuously monitors driving conditions. Kia says this system means the Sportage is always in the correct drive mode.

There are five trim levels to choose from with the entry-level 1 trim including standard features like front cornering lights, automatic rain-sensing windscreen wipers and cruise control.

Pricing for the Sportage ranges from £16,645 to a range topping £26,170.

Askaprice.com offers Kia Sportage car lease deals including Kia personal car lease and Kia business car lease.
