Honda has released a film for the new Jazz hybrid compact MPV come supermini.
The film shows a ‘day in the life’ of a young driver and infers the target market of the new model which has been on the market since 1 March.
Honda has a strong range of hybrid models now, including the CR-Z, Insight and a Civic hybrid and all have proved fairly successful for the Japanese manufacturer – so much so that it is considered the leading hybrid manufacturer on the market having taken the title off fellow Asian giants, Toyota.
It is the first hybrid ‘supermini’ on sale and usese the same petrol-electric drivetrain as the Insight and CR-z, namely a 1.3-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and an IMA electric system with a CVT (Continually Variable Transmission).
The powertrain arrangement allows the Jazz hybrid to return CO2 emissions of 104g/km and a combined fuel economy of 70mpg.
Honda’s standard Jazz model has been well received since it arrived on the market courtesy of its superior size and seating flexibility compared to other similarly sized cars.
It utilises Honda’s Magic Seat setup which allows for a wide range of seating positions to aid practicality and that strongpoint has not been missed out on by Gaucho Productions – the London based film and digital production company, charged with making the Honda Jazz advert.
It’s not the first time the firm has made a film for Honda having previously produced the CR-Z and 2008 Jazz launch films.
