Audi has expanded the range of cars available to thrash around Silverstone courtesy of an Audi Driving Experience.
The experience days run from April through to October and include some of Audi’s most powerful cars including the latest RS models like the RS5
, the TT RS coupe and the high performance Audi R8
V10 car.Combined, the output of the complete Audi line-up available at Silverstone is 1,315PS with a massive 520PS coming from the ten-cylinder, 187mph R8 supercar. As well as the vehicles, Audi also provides trained instructors to talk ‘civilians’ through the finer points of high-speed driving including ABS braking as well as slalom and cornering techniques before being let loose around the track in a hot-Audi.At the end of the day guests are then treated to a high-speed passenger lap where they are driven around the lap by instructors.Audi is quick to defend its high-speed promotion stating that the experience also aids drivers in preparing for the ‘worst case scenario’ - improving knowledge of speed and its risks.Audi UK Director, Jeremy Hicks said:"Power outputs in our range are rising, and thanks to advances in quattro drive and our increasing use of high-tech materials in production our cars are becoming lighter and ever more agile, so they are offering more and more for keen drivers to enjoy. “This training is designed not only to ensure that they do exactly that, but also do it as safely as possible. I would encourage everyone - enthusiast or not - to take the time to come and polish their technique."The Audi Driving Experience costs £499 and drivers over 21 years of age and with less than eight penalty points are eligible. As well as driving at Silverstone there are also opportunities to race around Spain’s Circuit de Catalunya and the epic Nurburgring Nordschliefe circuit in Germany.Askaprice.com is one of the UK’s leading car-quotation website and allows visitors the opportunity to access some of the best deals and offers around.
