An eco-car website has announced a competition to design a wrap for a £20,000 Audi A1.
EcoForecourt.com has offered would-be designers the chance to create their own unique car-wrap on a range-topping variant of the Audi sub-compact hatchback. In conjunction with Audi, the website is encouraging anyone with a design background to enter and is targeting students especially.Audi’s award-winning A1 was chosen for its eco credentials and beat off competition from the likes of the
Fiat 500 TwinAir and the
Honda CR-Z as EcoForecourt.com looked to source a leading eco-car.James Walker of EcoForecourt.com praised the A1 for offering ‘the complete package in terms of economy, image and quality’ as well as the ‘fun factor’.Since its release the Audi A1 has been a massive hit for the German manufacturer in terms of sales and critical recognition. As well as claiming the prestigious WhatCar? Car of the Year title, the premium compact has been inundated with orders resulting in lead times of up to 28 weeks. The competition is borne from what Walker see’s as a ‘misconception amongst motorists that greener cars are boring and compromised’ – a conception the company is looking to change through the competition. The winning car will be launched at the 13th annual Gumball 3000 Rally in London on 26 May receiving international press coverage alongside celebrities including David Hasselhoff and David Guetta.Askaprice.com holds a wide range of manufacturers and models at the car-quotation website and allows visitors to view the
