Research by Askaprice.com has shown that Britons love buying British. For 2010-to-date the Astra and Corsa have been shown more interest than any other model on the car buying website. In 2010 neither the Astra nor Corsa has been placed outside of the top two.In an all-Vauxhall battle it is the Corsa that has come out on top, heading the charts for eight out of 11 months while the Astra replaced the supermini at the summit for three months.Askaprice.com allows visitors to the car buying website to buy new or used cars as well as offering a wide range of leasing and finance deals on vehicles, as such the figures are not based purely on new sales. The Corsa and Astra have therefore proved to be the most popular cars based on their all round ability. They are the two cars that lend themselves to most segments of the car-buying industry proving favourites for leasing, finance, outright purchase and their high residual value has also proved beneficial on the used car market. In 2010-to-date Vauxhall has accounted for 43.3 per cent of the top ten enquiries.Excluding the popular Vauxhall Insignia saloon -that was fourth in the ratings over August and September- the Astra and Corsa still accounted for over a third of the top ten with 36.6 per cent of enquiries.Askaprice.com data also revealed that British motorists seldom look outside of Europe when buying a car.So far in 2010, Nissan is the only non-European manufacturer to break in to the top ten monthly enquiries with its Qashqai and Juke crossovers. The Qashqai featured in the top ten enquiries in five months out of 11 while the Juke featured three times in the last three months of the year-to-date.
