Alfa Romeo has updated its most powerful Mito for the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Alfa Romeo has updated its Mito Quadrifoglio Verde for its appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend.

The Quadrifoglio is the most powerful Mito in the range and Alfa Romeo has called it ‘the sportiest compact car in the world’ with 170bhp at its disposal thanks to a 1.4-litre TB MultiAir engine.

With a 0-62mph sprint time of seven seconds the Quadrifoglio is the fastest Mito on sale however as with any Alfa engine – built and developed alongside Fiat – its CO2 emissions and fuel economy are also impressive at 139g/km and 47.1mpg respectively.

As a result Alfa hasn’t changed anything under the updated model’s bonnet and has instead focussed on a range of styling updates, introduced to reflect its performance.

On the outside the updated Mito has had its front-skirt lowered and air intakes added to give a more aggressive appearance and it has been brought more in line with the brilliant Alfa 8C Competizione which has a similar ‘ground-hugging’ front-end.

Despite ditching the ‘Cloverleaf’ moniker, Alfa has retained the livery which features across the car’s exterior along with Quadrifoglio 18-inch alloy rims, low-profile tyres and a pearlescent-satin finish.

The sports theme is continued inside with sports seats – finished with Alcantara suede – and an all-black colour scheme.

It comes with a range of driver aids including a Synaptic Damping Control Active Suspension System (SDC) which works in a similar manner to a traction control system to aid steering and a comprehensive equipment list including a Blue&Me Bluetooth system, a USB/AUX hook-up and cruise control.

Alfa is also offering an upgrade which adds carbon-fibre Sabelt bucket seats with suede and leather inserts along with Alfa logos.

The Alfa Romeo Mito Quadrifoglio Verde goes on sale next month at a start price of £18,755.
