Audi Q7 Performance
A choice of petrol or diesel engines are offered on the new Audi Q7, with no shortage of power in any of them having drawn inspiration from the Le Mans winning Audi racing cars. The larger of the two diesel engines is a twin turbo 4.2 litre that has a power output of 340PS and an absolutely immense 760 Nm of torque, more than enough for any occasion. Petrol engine variants of the Audi Q7 come as either 3.6 or 4.2 litre, again outstandingly powerful. The 4.2 litre V8 Q7 delivering 420PS and 440Nm of torque.
Audi Q7 Technology
As an Audi flagship model the Q7 is packed with technology designed to enhance safety, comfort and driving enjoyment.
The adaptive damping system is one example of the technology applied to the new Audi Q7. With constant monitoring via multiple sensors the suspension uses electronic controls so that it is continually varying the damping on the car to provide the best possible ride at all times. Another example of Audi Q7 technology in action is the electronic stabilisation programme which includes off road support. By recognising the surfaces the Audi Q7 is travelling on at any time it is able to manage the systems to ensure the best possible deceleration on surfaces such as gravel and sand, as well as on the road.
Audi Q7 Safety
In addition to the high driving position and passenger safety cell that are intrinsic parts of the Audi Q7 design, the car is full of safety features on every level. Quattro four wheel drive maintains control of the vehicle along with the stability systems while additional features such as the Audi Side Assist, Lane Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control send information to the driver. Using radar sensors the Audi Q7 Side Assist warns the driver of cars that may have driven into areas that are out of view along the side of the car, while Lane Assist will send a vibration through the Q7 steering wheel should the car drift out of its lane. The Adaptive Cruise Control will actually control the car, modifying the speed of the Audi Q7 to maintain a safe distance between it and the vehicle in front.
